Increased PILOTs lower Warsaw village property tax rate




<p class=”p1″>Increased payments in lieu of taxes by Paddock’s Breeding and Dairy Services and the Wyoming County Agriculture and Business Center have slightly lowered the initially-proposed property tax rate for the Village of Warsaw for 2018-19.</p><p class=”p3″>The village board approved the 2018-19 budget during its Monday, April 16, meeting with the change. Under the adjustment, $3,512 was deducted from the real property taxes line of A1001 and moved to the payment-in-lieu-of-taxes line, A1081. The change comes as a result of Paddock’s and the Ag Center increasing their PILOT payments to $7,762 from $4,250. </p><p class=”p3″>As a result of the change, the amount of real property tax revenue that the village will receive is $1,915,294, decreasing from $1,918,806. That decreases the rate from 14.45 percent to 14.42355. The per-thousand amount sees a decrease from 0.27276 to 0.24361.</p><p class=”p2″> </p><p class=”p3″>In other news:</p><p class=”p3″>• Department of Public Works Supervisor Shane Evans said that the Wyoming County Highway Department will replace a box culvert on Wyoming Street. He did not give a start date for the project. </p><p class=”p3″>• The Warsaw Fire Department will host an open house from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28 as part of the statewide Recruit NY event. The event will include presentations on everyday scenarios the department encounters, as well as a chili contest and a drawing contest with students from Warsaw. The winners for each grade will win a ride to school from the fire department. </p>
